In these days incubations of sediments with the non-native bivalve Rangia cuneata are going on in Gdynia. Little is known about the effects of this suspension-feeding bivalve on the benthic-pelagic coupling in the Gulf of Gdańsk. Furthermore, Rangia cuneata is a burrowing bivalve and can dig into the sediments affecting biogeochemical processes.
