Simulation of the temperature vertical profile during 2022 at the deepest area of the Lake Maggiore using the Aquatic Ecosystem model (AEM3D) in the SEBINO project. Understanding the effect of thermal stratification on hydrodynamic mixing, dissolved substances, and nutrients transport is key in the biogeochemical process between epilimnion and hypolimnion that lead to deoxygenation processes in subalpine deep lakes.
